Making European trails Inclusive for all abilities
Introduction
The TRAIL4ALL project is an EU-funded Erasmus+ initiative aimed at making hiking trails across Europe more accessible for people with disabilities. ERA is a key partner in this project, working alongside European mountaineering, outdoor, and disability organizations to develop European Guidelines for Accessible Trails, train outdoor professionals, and map inclusive hiking routes.

Project goals
Develop European accessibility guidelines – Creating standardized criteria for hiking trails that are safe and enjoyable for people with disabilities.
Map & promote accessible trails – Identifying and documenting wheelchair-friendly and Joëlette-compatible routes in partner countries.
Train outdoor professionals – Providing training on adaptive equipment, safety, and inclusive trail management.
Encourage inclusion through hiking – Organizing events and pilot hikes where people with disabilities can explore nature without barriers.
