ERA is proud to be part of an exciting new initiative to develop a long-distance hiking trail along the European Green Belt – an ecological network and symbol of unity that spans the former Iron Curtain, from the Barents Sea, the Baltics, Central Europe and the Balkans and goes east to the Black Sea, and west to the Ionian and Adriatic.

On 1 April 2025, the kick-off meeting for this ambitious project took place, bringing together partners from across Europe. The goal: to create a trail that not only promotes sustainable tourism and nature conservation, but also celebrates the cultural and historical significance of the Green Belt.

With its long-standing expertise in transnational trails through the E-paths network, ERA is actively supporting the project’s development. This new hiking route will highlight Europe’s natural beauty and shared heritage, offering hikers a powerful journey through landscapes shaped by history and resilience.
