Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe, Region – abbreviated Leading Quality Region – guarantees a perfect hiking experience. Whether it’s a day trip with friends or family, a complete hiking vacation without changing accommodation, or a multi-day tour with a lot of luggage. The quality criteria of Leading Quality Regions meet the highest standards in terms of trails, hosts, service and tourist information. Anyone who has ever been to a quality region will consider the Leading Quality Region certification a “must” when choosing a region for vacation.
The Eislek region in Luxembourg was chosen to be the LQT-BE, Region pilot project.
This label is directly inspired by the German “Qualitätsregion” label applied in 6 regions of Germany.
The new hiking maps have been published in the first half of the year.
A second audit has been carried out last spring concerning the facilities and various services offered to walkers (criteria 2-5).
All inspected trails, all checked entry points, all visited tourist offices and hiker friendly hosts have been very satisfying. Only a few improvements were necessary.
This stage has been completed, the complete file was sent to the ERA Board for an approval.
