Hiking on Easter Monday in Slovenia
The traditional hike on Easter Monday 2024, at the beginning of the European hiking trail E6 in Slovenia (CiglarTrail in Slovenia), attracted travelers from all over Slovenia and Trieste. Thanks to the mountain, forestry and In-Mountain guides. At the end of the trail, at the castle and Forest Culture House, we were greeted with a speech by the mayor of the Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi, Alan Bukovnik, and the museum director Alenka Verdinek. We could visit an exhibition on sustainable forestry. The meeting was dedicated to planned events for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of E6 in Europe, in the year 2025.
PLANNED EVENTS IN 2025, FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF E6 IN SLOVENIA
1. International photo contest on the E6.
2. Signing of the charter by mayors of municipalities along the E6 in Slovenia and major cities in Europe.
3. Central multi-day hike during Forest Week in Slovenia from May 24, 2025, starting at Mašun, until the end of Forest Week – until May 31, 2025.
4. Year-long one or two-day journey along the E6 in Slovenia and Austria.
5. Exhibitions and lectures on the topic of E6 and European hiking trails in various locations
6. Planned hikes for people with disabilities (hikers with disabilities) on the E6.
7. Central event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of E6, in the Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi, at the Forest Culture House, on September 27, 2025.
8. First hike to commemorate the 50th anniversary of E6, January 18, 2025, Strunjan.
