Kick-off Hike in Strunjan

The festivities begin with a traditional hike in Strunjan on January 18, 2025. This event marks the start of our year-long celebrations and honors the endpoint of the E6 trail in Slovenia.

INVITATION

To all hikers and those who wish to become hikers,

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, we invite you to join us for the traditional hike along the European Walking Route E6, from Šared to Strunjan.

EQUIPMENT: Suitable for mid-altitude terrain, weather-appropriate.
FOOD AND DRINKS: Bring your own. At the end of the hike, a mountain-style meal will be available for 10 euros.

The hike will start at 10:00 AM in Šared and follow the E6 path for less than 3 hours. Along the way, you will learn about our natural and cultural heritage, and through conversations with locals, you’ll discover the charming world of Istrian villages, traditions, and countryside. The hike will be led by local guides, and participation is at your own risk. Transportation will be provided for drivers from Strunjan back to the starting point.

At the end of the hike, at the Hotel Svoboda in Strunjan, we will present events related to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the European Walking Route E6 in 2025. Locals will also showcase hiking-related products from the surrounding area.
