Celebrate the E6 trail in Greece – Vasilitsa, 19 July 2025

Part of the E6 50th Anniversary Campaign – #E6in2025

We are excited to share that the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing (HFMC) will host a special celebration of the E6 European Long-Distance Path in Greece on 19 July 2025, as part of the Panhellenic Mountaineering Meeting (POS).

The event will take place in the stunning Vasilitsa region near Grevena, Northern Greece, and will bring together hikers, mountaineers, and outdoor enthusiasts from across the country. The celebration will focus on a scenic section of the E6 trail between Avdela village and the Vasilitsa Ski Centre, with activities designed to inspire and connect the hiking community.

Planned highlights:

• Guided hikes on the E6 trail
• Talks and presentations about the E6 in Greece and Europe
• Interactive maps and exhibitions
• Children’s workshops
• Photo displays
• Distribution of printed materials and newsletters

This celebration is part of the wider #E6in2025 campaign, marking the 50th anniversary of the E6 trail, which runs from the Baltic to the Aegean Sea. Greece hosts a spectacular 1,000 km section of the E6, crossing diverse landscapes and rich cultural regions.
