50 YEARS OF THE EUROPEAN WALKING ROUTE E6

Photography Society Grča Kočevje (Organizer)  in collaboration with KEUPS and ERA (Commissioners)  Announces: 

Public Photography Contest: 50 Years of the European Walking Route E6

Participation:

The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers worldwide, free of charge. The competition is organized by the rules of the Photographic Association of Slovenia (FZS). Each participant can submit up to six (6) color or black-and-white photographs. Only photographs taken on or along any part of the E6 in Europe are eligible. The content of the picture does not necessarily have to depict the path itself, but it is essential that the photograph was taken on or along the path. Example: A photograph can show not only the path itself but also a wide range of other subjects; the surrounding landscape, people, and places along the path, wildlife, flora, landmarks, etc.

Only photographs created using photographic equipment are accepted. Creations made using artificial intelligence (AI/UI) programs are not allowed. Photographs that do not comply with the contest rules will be disqualified.

E6 is 6,030 km long and passes through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, and Greece. *ERA does not assume responsibility for E6 in Finland as no member organization is currently present.
E6 was inaugurated on June 22, 1975, in Mariazell, Austria.

PRIZES:

The professional jury will award a total of 20 prizes: 

1. First Place – FZS Gold Medal and cash prize of €500 

2. Second Place – FD Grča Gold Medal and cash prize of €300 

3. Third Place – FZS Silver Medal and cash prize of €200 

4. Fourth Place – FD Grča Silver Medal 

5. Fifth Place – FZS Bronze Medal 

6. Sixth Place – FD Grča Bronze Medal 

7. Five Diplomas – FZS 

8. Nine Diplomas – FD Grča

  • Note: The cash prices depend on sponsors, who are not yet found.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 30, 2025

By submitting and confirming their entry, participants accept the contest rules. Works are to be submitted digitally as JPG files on the contest website here: www.natecaj.eu. In case of any issues, they can also be submitted via email: narava@fotodrustvo-grca.si.
The required dimension for each photograph is 2160 pixels (vertical side) in sRGB JPG/JPEG format. The maximum size of each photograph is 4 MB. Name the photographs in the online entry form with the title of the photograph and the place of origin (name of the educational or thematic path). Example: Morning on E6 Trail

JUDGING:

August 15, 2025

JURY:

The submitted photographs will be evaluated by a professional jury consisting of:

The photographs will be presented to the jury on a 48’’ 4K UHDTV with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, arranged in such a way that they are evaluated separately, and the authorship remains anonymous to the judges. The jury will consider compliance with the contest theme, creativity, technical excellence, expressiveness, originality, and aesthetic criteria.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS: 

The results of the contest will be announced on the website: www.natecaj.eu by September 27, 2025. Each participant will also receive their results via email.

AWARDS CEREMONY AND EXHIBITION: 

The public awards ceremony and opening of the exhibition with the awarded and accepted works will be held in Radlje ob Dravi on September 27, 2025.

CATALOGUE: 

The organizer will publish a printed catalog for the exhibition, which will be provided free of charge to all contest participants by November 20, 2025.

COPYRIGHT: 

The submitted photographs must be the original work of the participant. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that all photographs submitted do not infringe on the copyright of third parties or the law. Participants guarantee that the submitted photographs are their work and that they hold the copyright to them. The exclusive copyright for all works in this contest remains with the author of the pictures. By submitting works to the exhibition, the author agrees to the contest rules and allows their data to be used to inform and publish about the exhibition. By submitting their entry, the author agrees and confirms that the organizer can use their works for the purposes and promotion of the contest (publication in the catalog, exhibitions, presentations, video projections, articles, websites, or other printed and electronic media) without prior permission or payment to the author. The organizer and the commissioner of the photo contest will always credit the authors of the photographs in all publications.
