ERA will celebrate the E-path E6 in 2025.
Celebrating 50 Years of the European walking route E6 in 2025
In 2025, we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the European Walking Route E6, a remarkable trail that stretches 6,030 kilometers through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, and Greece.
Since its inauguration on June 22, 1975, in Mariazell, Austria, E6 has symbolized unity, nature, and cultural heritage.
Join us in celebrating this Milestone!
International photography contest
To celebrate this significant milestone, we invite photographers worldwide to participate in our International Photography Contest. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, capture the beauty, diversity, and spirit of the E6 trail. Submit your entries by July 30, 2025, and stand a chance to win prestigious medals and cash prizes. The winners will be honored at an awards ceremony and exhibition in Radlje ob Dravi on September 27, 2025.
European-wide media campaign for E6 celebration
We plan to launch a European-wide media campaign to raise awareness about the E6, encouraging walking clubs and/or municipalities along the route to participate voluntarily in the celebrations. The campaign will highlight the importance of the E6 as a symbol of European unity and cultural heritage.
This media campaign will leverage ERA’s digital platforms, social media, and partnerships with national hiking and tourism organizations to spread the message widely. We hope this approach will allow us to engage local authorities and the public in a more organic and scalable way.
