E1 in Germany

Route

The E1 crosses Germany from the Danish border in the very north to the Swiss border in the very south. It passes big cities like Hamburg and Frankfurt, mountains like Taunus and Black Forest and seas and lakes like the Baltic Sea and the Lake Constance. Among its numberous attractions, there are

  • World heritages: Haithabu, Lübeck, Hamburg, Limes
  • Nature reserves: National park Black Forest
  • Cultural sites: Historic city centres as Flensburg, Lübeck, Hamburg, Hamelin, Frankfurt, Konstanz; Hermannsdenkmal near Detmold
