Black Sea Route: A New E-Path Proposal

The Black Sea Route is a proposed long-distance hiking and cycling trail connecting Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. Stretching from Constanta to Istanbul, the route aims to link the EuroVelo 6 and 13 cycling routes while offering a unique experience similar to existing E-paths like E3, E4, and E8. Designed for both pedestrians and cyclists, the trail passes through coastal landscapes, connecting small villages and major tourist destinations, while highlighting natural, cultural, and historical landmarks.

Key features include:

  • Year-round accessibility and a boost to alternative tourism beyond beach season.
  • Support for local businesses and revitalization of small settlements.
  • Eco-friendly transportation and preservation of cultural heritage.
  • Integration with existing transport networks to offer multi-modal travel options.

As part of the European long-distance path network, the Black Sea Route seeks to promote cross-border cooperation, sustainable tourism, and environmental preservation along the stunning Black Sea coast.
