ERA and Kompass strengthen partnership for E-Paths and Leading Quality Trails

Yesterday, representatives from the European Hiking Federation (ERA) and Kompass met in Innsbruck to strengthen their longstanding partnership and advance shared goals in promoting hiking across Europe. The meeting covered a range of topics that will enhance collaboration, visibility, and shared initiatives between both organizations.

Key points agreed upon included:

Showcasing Verified E-Paths and Leading Quality Trails: ERA will utilize Kompass’s digital and print platforms more extensively to highlight some of the most picturesque and accessible sections of Verified E-paths. Additionally, the Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe, Day Walk will be prominently featured, showcasing Europe’s finest short hiking routes and enhancing visibility to a broad audience.

New logo and branding transition: In light of ERA’s rebranding efforts, Kompass and ERA discussed the rollout of the new ERA logo and the terms “ERA – Hiking Europe” and “ERA European Hiking Federation.” This transition will align both organizations’ materials, ensuring consistency across promotional content and products.

Promoting the E6 in 2025 with a Photo Contest: The upcoming 50th-anniversary celebrations of the E6 path will include a photo contest to capture and celebrate the scenic and cultural richness along this iconic route. Kompass will support the promotion of this contest, aiming to engage local communities and hiking enthusiasts in the festivities.

Sponsorship and partnership expansion: ERA and Kompass also discussed sponsorship opportunities for 2024 and partnership possibilities beyond. Together, they will look to expand their collaborative efforts, leveraging Kompass’s reach and ERA’s expertise to further promote sustainable hiking and nature conservation.

The enhanced partnership will create greater opportunities to promote accessible hiking routes, encourage sustainable tourism, and foster a deeper appreciation for Europe’s diverse trails. This collaboration aligns with both organizations’ mission to make Europe a welcoming and inspiring destination for hikers from all over the world.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting partnership and the rollout of new trails on the Kompass platform!
