How to go there:
Iława is very well communicated by train.
The best international airports are:
– Warsaw Chopin Airport
– Warsaw Modlin Airport
– Gdańsk Lech Walesa Airport
Poznań doesn’t have a train station (by bus to the train station Poznań Główny takes too much time), Szczecin is to far. The possible airport can be Bydgoszcz but there are not many flights to/from there..
Chopin Airport Warszaw – time of travel from 2h30′ to 3h. There are trains from Warsaw Airport (suburban trains) to Warsaw Central Station/Warsaw West/Warsaw East/Warsaw Gdańska and express trains from those stations to Iława Główna. The first train is at 6:30 the last at 19:40.

Warsaw Modlin Airport the situation is similar.
From Gdańsk – the name of the station at the airport is Gdańsk Port Lotniczy, you have to change at Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, the time of travel is about 2 hrs – 2hrs.40′.
The first connection is at about 4:30, the last at 22:30, the number of trains is more than 20 per day.
There has always been a very good train connection from Germany, Benelux etc. via Berlin and Poznan. Nowadays from Berlin to the Polish border there is bus substitution (work on the truck) but till autumn the normal situation will return.
From Poznań to Iława the first train is at about 6 o’clock, the last at about 19 hrs. the time of travel from 2h45′ to 4 hrs.

Trip to E9 on 1st October 2023:
After the 50th anniversary of E-paths in 2022, ERA decided to celebrate one E-path every year.
In 2023, the E-path E9 is in focus of celebrations.
The organisers of the 54th ERA Conference prepared a special trip to E9 (Copernicus Walking Trail) in Poland as an additional programme for the interested participants.
PROGRAMME:
08:30 departure from the hotel in Ilawa by bus (with luggage)
10:30 arrival to Próchnik near Elbląg
– a walking trip form Próchnik to Suchacz on Elbląg Hills – about 9 kms
12:45 transfer from Suchacz to Elbląg
13:15 arrival to Elbląg, a short walk in the Old Town (also E9) and free time for coffee
14:15 departure to Iława via Malbork
(from Malbork express trains to Warsaw and Gdańsk the same as from Iława
restaurant car is in all EIP trains)
